Today I’m excited to introduce you to my dear friend Terri Cole, a licensed psychotherapist and relationship expert.
Terri’s specialty is boundaries, something I’ve struggled with my whole life.
As a people pleaser, I would feel important (and safe) when I bent over backwards to make a client or boss happy. This included being “on” 24/7 as I’d respond to emails and texts at all hours and drop personal priorities to meet clients’ last-minute needs.
Back in the day, work was the source of my significance. So for many years, I allowed my work to take over my whole life, even as my emotional health suffered.
Today I’m grateful to have a slower paced life in beautiful, tropical Puerto Rico. I regularly turn down exciting business and travel opportunities to allow myself more space to just be. My priorities are my physical health (I work out at least 5x a week), spending time in nature (from the beach to the rainforest), and cultivating enriching and nourishing relationships with my inner circle of close friends.
Because I understand how detrimental a lack of boundaries can be for us entrepreneurs, I’m thrilled to share a 25-minute video interview I did with Terri, who wrote a book on this topic called Boundary Boss.
